Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know About Renting Scissor Lifts

Real answers to the questions contractors ask most — from delivery and pricing to safety and international sales. Can't find what you need? Call us directly.

Delivery & Availability

How fast can you deliver a scissor lift or boom lift?

Same-day delivery is available across Maryland, Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Delaware, and West Virginia when you call before 1 PM. We'll confirm your exact delivery window when you book — no vague time slots.

Do you charge a delivery fee?

Delivery is quoted separately based on your jobsite distance from our hub in Clarksburg, MD. We give you the exact delivery cost upfront — zero hidden fees, always. Pickup fees follow the same transparent pricing.

Can I pick up the equipment myself?

Yes, self-pickup is available from our Clarksburg, MD location. You'll need a trailer or flatbed capable of handling the machine's weight. Call us to confirm logistics and ensure proper tie-down equipment.

What areas do you serve?

We deliver same-day to Maryland (including Montgomery, Prince George's, Frederick, and Howard counties), Washington DC, Northern Virginia (Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Loudoun), Delaware, and West Virginia. Call us for delivery to areas not listed — we often accommodate.

Pricing & Rental Terms

What is the minimum rental period?

We rent by the day, week, or month. A daily rental covers a 24-hour period. Weekly rates typically beat the daily rate after 4–5 days. Monthly rates offer the best value for extended projects. No long-term contracts required.

What is included in the rental price?

The rental rate covers the machine only. Delivery, pickup, fuel (for engine-powered lifts), and the optional damage waiver are priced separately and quoted upfront. There are no surprise charges.

Do you offer weekly or monthly discounts?

Yes — weekly rates are significantly lower than multiplying the daily rate, and monthly rates are our best-value option. See exact pricing on each equipment page or call us for a custom quote on longer projects.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, check, ACH bank transfer, and major credit cards. For recurring customers and larger projects, we offer Net-30 billing. Contact us to set up a business account.

Is there a damage deposit?

A damage deposit or damage waiver may apply depending on the equipment and rental duration. We'll explain all terms clearly before you confirm your booking — no fine print surprises.

Equipment & Safety

Are the lifts OSHA-compliant and regularly inspected?

Yes. Every machine in our fleet is OSHA-compliant, fully inspected, and serviced before each rental. We carry top-tier brands — Genie and JLG — recognized industry-wide for reliability and safety. All units meet ANSI A92 standards.

Do I need training or a license to operate a scissor lift?

OSHA requires operators to be trained and authorized by their employer before operating aerial work platforms. No government-issued license is required, but documented employer training is mandatory. We recommend reviewing OSHA 1926.454 and ANSI A92.22.

What's the difference between an electric and rough-terrain scissor lift?

Electric scissor lifts run on battery power — ideal for indoor use due to zero emissions and quiet operation. Rough-terrain lifts are engine-powered with larger tires, designed for outdoor, uneven ground. We'll recommend the right type for your jobsite.

What working heights are available?

Our fleet covers 19 ft to 65+ ft working height. Scissor lifts range from 19 ft (compact indoor) to 46 ft (heavy-duty). Boom lifts extend to 65+ ft with horizontal reach for hard-to-access areas. Filter by height on our equipment page.

Can scissor lifts be used outdoors?

Electric scissor lifts can be used outdoors on firm, level surfaces within the manufacturer's wind speed limits. Rough-terrain scissor lifts are specifically built for outdoor and uneven terrain. We'll match you with the right unit for your site conditions.

Buying Used Equipment

Do you sell used scissor lifts?

Yes — we maintain a catalog of inspected, pre-owned scissor lifts and boom lifts at fixed, transparent prices. Every unit comes with full documentation. Browse the Buy Used page or call us to discuss your requirements.

Are the used lifts inspected before sale?

Every used unit goes through a full mechanical inspection before listing. We provide honest condition ratings (Excellent, Good, Fair) and full service history. What you see is what you get — no hidden defects.

Do you offer financing on equipment purchases?

Yes, financing options are available for equipment purchases. Call us to discuss terms — we work with contractors and businesses of all sizes to find a payment structure that works.

International Sales (LATAM)

Do you export scissor lifts to Latin America?

Yes — we provide end-to-end purchase advisory and export services for contractors in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, and beyond. Services include equipment sourcing, inspection, export documentation, and Incoterm coordination (EXW, FOB, CIF).

What Incoterms do you support for international sales?

We support EXW (buyer arranges all transport), FOB (our most popular — we handle US logistics to port), and CIF (full coverage to destination port). Our team handles all US export documentation.

Can you help with import duties and customs in my country?

We handle the US export side and can connect you with experienced customs brokers in your country. We've facilitated exports to multiple Latin American countries and understand the documentation requirements for each.
